Build and publish your first Web Chatbot

Learn how to build and test your first chatbot using Landbot's user-friendly interface, drag-and-drop functionality, and preview feature.

Landbot is a powerful tool that makes building and testing chatbots accessible and easy for everyone. With its user-friendly interface and drag and drop functionality, building a chatbot from scratch is a breeze. In this video, you will learn how to build and test your first chatbot using Landbot.

The process starts in the Dashboard, where you click on the “Build a chatbot” button and select the “Web” option. This will redirect you to the template page where you can choose from pre-made templates or start from a blank canvas. For this example, we will be using the Basic Lead Generation template.Once you have selected the template, you will be taken to the chatbot builder where you can customize the conversation flow.

The chatbot builder has a left-corner arrow that displays all the available blocks that you can use to build the conversation. The basic lead generation template starts with a welcome message, followed by a question block that asks for the user’s name. The next block is a text message that greets the user by name, followed by a question block asking for their email. A button block then asks what services the user is interested in, followed by a question text block asking for additional information. The flow ends with a short text message and a send email block.

To preview the chatbot, you can click on the “Preview” button located beside the save button. This will load a preview of the chatbot so that you can test it as if you were the end user. Once you are satisfied with the chatbot, you can click on the “Publish” button to make it live. If you ever need to go back to an old version of the chatbot, you can view and compare previous published versions in the “Publish history” section.

In conclusion, building and testing a chatbot in Landbot is a simple and straightforward process. With its user-friendly interface, drag and drop functionality, and preview function, you can build a chatbot in no time and make sure it works as intended before publishing.
