Talk to our team →What's the difference between a chat, a WhatsApp chat, and an AI chat?
• A chat in Landbot is a structured conversation between your bot and an end user, following a rule-based flow for web chatbots. It guides the user through specific tasks using buttons, keyword triggers and decision trees with predetermined responses. • A WhatsApp chat follows Meta’s messaging rules: when an end user messages your bot, a 24-hour window opens allowing free responses, and the interaction counts as a WhatsApp chat in your Landbot plan. After 24 hours of inactivity, only pre-approved Message Templates can be sent, which you can manage directly in the Landbot platform. • AI chats are those handled all or partially by Landbot’s AI Agents. This lets the bot understand intent and give personalised, real-time answers instead of relying only on predefined flows. AI chats are tracked and billed separately from regular chats and WhatsApp chats.
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
You're automatically moved to Free, the free plan. No charge — we don't ask for a card to try it. Your agents and your data stay put.
Which currency do I pay in, and can I change or cancel?
In euros if you bill from the EU and in dollars everywhere else — we detect it automatically. And you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel in two clicks from your account, no retention calls. Annual billing comes with 20% off.
Am I locked into a 12-month contract?
No. Monthly plans are month to month and you cancel whenever you want. The annual plan is a 12-month commitment only because it carries the 20% discount — your choice, never a requirement to use WhatsApp or any other channel.
Do you use my chats to train AI? Are you GDPR compliant?
Your chats aren't used to train models and aren't sold to third parties. We're a European platform with GDPR, SOC 2 and a DPA available on request.
Which AI model do you use, and how do you stop it inventing answers?
Answers are grounded in your own knowledge base, not in what the model thinks it remembers. And you can combine button-based flows for the critical paths with AI only where it helps — the hybrid that keeps you in control. All included, on every plan.
Are human handoff and integrations included?
Handing a chat to a person with full context is included from Starter, with a shared inbox for your team (each person uses a seat). HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, Google Sheets and webhooks are in Professional and up.
I can't build it myself. Do you build it for me?
Yes: with Agent Studio our team designs, builds and runs your agent — and then hands it over for you to maintain if you want. It's included in Business and available as a service on any plan.
